Aaah, the lost art of letter writing you say? Yes. You know that archaic way of communication that existed long before email, text messaging, instant messaging, web cams and virtual phones. Letter writing was regarded as an art form way back when. One could expect the average letter to contain hand printed correspondence written on beautiful paper and embellished with whatever the sender fancied such as sweet perfume, dried flowers or a tucked away treat of some kind. Give this lost art a personal revival by simply right clicking the image and printing out your own vintage stationary.
On another note I just came across this cool photo of a very, very, very young Mel Torme'! This was a first for me as I have never seen a photo of him under the age of 40! He couldn't have been more than 2o here! Mel Torme' has always been one of my favorites. He was one of those great singers with a cool style that was all his own and could not be duplicated by another. As a matter of fact he was known as "The Velvet Fog" for his smooth as silk croonings and snazzy stylings. Yet another one of the greats that will live on in our memories forever.

ReplyDeleteThose papers are awesome! I wish I had a printer! Anyway, HI Cindy!!! I know shame on me, I've been missing in action for a long long time! Oh life has gotten in the way of my blogging life! So how's everything? I'm in a better place right now and hope to be back blogging much more often now! Stop by my blog and say hi! :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous papers! Thank you for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteCindy...as always thank you for sharing. Regarding the Jon and Kate thing...clicked on it. Know the entry is in Sept. of '09, but you are right. I only saw a snippet from 20/20 or something. We do not have cable...only use the tv for videos and dvd's. Going on 4 years now of not having tv programming and still do not miss it. What I saw in that little bit was just what you are describing....she seemed so demeaning to her husband. No, that doesn't make it right what he did. Have you heard of the book, Love and Respect? It is by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. He and his wife share in the book. One of the first things talks about when polled, the wife wanted love above all and the husband wanted respect. Good book. Thanks for sharing this...it is a good thing to talk about. deb
ReplyDeleteWow. The paper is so gorgeous and I want to have one. It seems like an old-fashioned stationery yet I really love it.
